Rector's Welcome
Tartu Art College (University of Applied Sciences) is a multidisciplinary applied higher education institution that educates professional applied artists and artists-restorers who value and preserve cultural heritage. In Tartu Art College (TAC), students can acquire applied higher education in the speciality of audiovisual arts, design and applied art, conservation and restoration and free arts.
In the academic year 2010/2011, it is possible to obtain the speciality of textile, furniture and restoration, leather design and conservation, sculpture, photography, media and advertisement design, painting and wall painting restoration from TAC's department of textile, furniture, leather art, sculpture, photography, media and advertisement design and paintings.
The aim of our College is to provide our graduates with education which would enable them to be competitive on Estonian and European labour market. For this purpose, we are developing all-round cooperation primarily with Tartu University, Estonian Academy of Arts and Viljandi Culture Academy and also with many other Estonian and foreign universities in order to create integrated curricula that would enrich art education with different skills and values.
In spring 2005, we signed cooperation contracts with Tartu University and Viljandi Culture Academy; in March 2007 a cooperation agreement was signed with Estonia Academy of Arts; in March 2009 we signed cooperation contract with Tartu College of Tallinn University of Technology and contracts with several other universities are under preparation.
Implementation of Tartu Art College's new development plan demands our joint contribution. Therefore, we encourage and welcome our students as well as our lecturers and administration staff to participate in the development of our College.
